A group of backpackers on an overnight camp

Experience the wonderful freedom and liberating self-reliance of carrying all you need on your back for a short walk and a semi wild overnight camp.

Dates: TBD

Price: £60 pp

Join this mini weekend adventure, meeting at 2.30 pm Saturday afternoon, returning in time for lunch on Sunday. The 6.5 to 7km route will take us from Upper Beeding onto the top of the Downs, where we can enjoy the fantastic views, before heading down to our semi-wild camp at the Foot of the Downs. We’ll have access to a toilet, a campfire and even the cover of a barn if needed. You’ll be cooking your own simple dinner and after a fabulous night chatting by the campfire and sleeping under the stars, we’ll have breakfast, de-camp and take a flatter route through fields & woodland to return to Upper Beeding by midday.

The idea is that you bring all your own camping kit for the night, plus a camping stove & food. I will provide a comprehensive kit list and also offer a rucksack packing demo evening on Monday, 4th May in Steyning. Details will be made available on booking.

If there are some camping items you are unable to source for yourself, I may be able to help. Just get in touch.
