I am a qualified Mountain Leader and Teacher who has worked in Outdoor Centres, Schools and I am passionate about the mental & physical health benefits of simply being outdoors.
I love teaching navigation because I believe having these skills both liberates and empowers people to create their own walking adventures and spend more time outdoors. Throughout my working life, I have been motivated by the desire to bring out the best in others and to help bring positivity and a sense of fun to our daily lives. Creating Heads Up Adventures has enabled me to bring my skills and motivations together to create a role that aligns with my values and promotes the intrinsic powers of spending time outdoors.
I set up Heads Up Adventures in 2020 and it has changed, grown & progressed in various ways since then. Whilst teaching navigation is the foundation of my business, I enjoy leading charity fundraising walks, such as the Sussex 3 Peaks for Turning Tides and Surrey 3 Peaks for Mind Over Mountains. I deliver Navigation and Social walks for the YHA and am always seeking ways to collaborate with local outdoor providers, such as Boondock Events and Moxie Unleashed. I also work part time for the PEAK section of the Keys Group, helping facilitate outdoor activities for young people in Childrens homes across Sussex & Hampshire.
I’m an advocate for year-round cold water swimming and its incredible health benefits. I love getting out on my bike & my new bike-packing hobby and being outdoors is my therapy for managing the ups and downs of daily life.
